29th October 2020 - The world-renowned Lexus Melbourne Cup (Tuesday, 3rd November), will be broadcast far and wide with HBA Media securing global distribution across all continents as the ‘race that stops the nation’ looks to ‘restart the nation’ in 2020.

Celebrating the 160th year of the Lexus Melbourne Cup, HBA Media will distribute a blockbuster international bespoke programme brimming with high profile entertainment acts, a nod to the rich history of the event and a strong focus on the contingent of international competitors that will descend on Flemington.

A number of major networks will support the event for the first time - these include: Eurosport India (India), Supersport (Africa), Polsat (Poland), Movistar (Spain), Sport Deutschland (Germany) and beIN SPORTS (Turkey).

A strong European footprint is further supported by Sky Sports (UK and Ireland), Match TV (Russia), Silknet (Georgia) and Equidia (France).

DMI (Dubai) and ADM (Abu Dhabi) will continue their valued support of the event while pan-regional broadcasters ESPN Latin-America (Latam and Caribbean) and SportsMax (Caribbean) along with Wuhan TV / Shanghai TV / Beijing TV (China) and Fiji TV (Fiji) will ensure global territories total over 120.

SNTV and Inverleigh will ensure further reach providing news and delayed programming support worldwide.

For the first time, and in conjunction with the Victoria Racing Club, a special one-hour preview programme will be widely distributed to broadcasters, further extending the narrative and footprint of the event.

Nick Addison, Executive General Manager of Commercial Operations at the Victoria Racing Club, said: “Once again, the Lexus Melbourne Cup has successfully attracted a cracking field of international contenders and entertainment sensations befitting the 160th running of this event.

“HBA Media has worked closely with the VRC, to ensure that our brand and raceday retains a strong global platform.”

Henry Birtles, CEO HBA Media, added: “We are thrilled to have again secured a vast global distribution footprint for the Lexus Melbourne Cup.

“This year’s event represents our seventh year working hand-in-hand with the VRC to ensure that the race that stops a nation, is seen by a multitude of others.”
