Global interest at record level for 2025 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe


  • UK viewership received a significant lift as the Arc returned to ITV1 with a 574,000 peak and a 5.1% share. Complemented by additional coverage by Sky Sports Racing and BBC Radio.
  • FOX Sports 1 reinforced their commitment to premium horse racing with an hour-long window dedicated to the Arc.
  • 35 international media outlets including four first-time broadcasters: Netkeiba (Japan), D-Smart (Turkey), Sporty TV (Czech Republic) and FanCode (India). 


Wednesday, 8th October 2025 – A multi million global audience tuned in to watch the French-trained Daryz claim victory in the 104th edition of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday, October 5th. The event’s worldwide reach was amplified by coverage across 35 international media outlets, reaffirming the immense appeal of Europe’s most prestigious horse race.

 

Spearheaded by HBA Media in collaboration with France Galop, the Arc’s international audience has tripled over the past four years. 

 

The 2025 running at ParisLongchamp formed a flagship element of the Crown Jewels Racing (CJR) broadcast portfolio – a curated collection of 20 of the world’s most iconic races – and featured two major broadcast offerings designed to engage racing fans across continents.

 

  • CJR60 – a one-hour live magazine-style show presented by Tom Stanley and Frankie Foster, blending racing action, lifestyle features, and in-depth interviews, with race coverage provided by Equidia.
  • A five-hour enhanced World Feed, covering the Arc and a full supporting card that includes five Group 1 races.


For France, M6 were onsite for a bespoke broadcast around the €5,000,000 feature race, with Equidia supplementing domestic coverage.


UK viewership received a significant lift as the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe made its return to ITV1, attracting a peak audience of 574,000 and a 5.1% share. The dedicated broadcast averaged just under 400,000 viewers, with coverage led by Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani from Ascot and Oli Bell reporting live from ParisLongchamp.


Sky Sports Racing also provided comprehensive live coverage of the full raceday, complemented by BBC Radio 5 Live’s extensive audio broadcast.

ESPN coverage reached over 50 territories across Latin America and the Caribbean.

SportsNet catered for the Canadian audience.

o  Debut coverage from Netkeiba in Japan, alongside AbemaTV, the Green Channel and Fuji TV; reinforcing the nation’s enduring love affair with the Arc.

o  Free-to-air broadcast in Australia via Racing.com.

 

Middle East & North Africa:

o  Robust on-site presence and live broadcasts from beIN, Al Kass and Al Rayyan to service Qatar, with DMI (wider MENA region) who ensured immersive coverage for Arabic-speaking audiences.

Sport24 provided onboard entertainment for the Arc in the skies and across the seas.

Reuters distributed content to global news outlets, while TransWorld Sport include the event in its monthly sports magazine show.
