The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the ‘Triple Crown’, held at Pimlico Racecourse two weeks after the Kentucky Derby and three weeks before the Belmont Stakes.
A Group 1 on dirt, the Preakness sees a maximum of 14 horses run over an extended mile with the chance to win $1.5 million.
