HBA MEDIA SET TO DISTRIBUTE THE HOLYWOODBETS DURBAN JULY INTERNATIONALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME

Friday, 3rd July 2026 – South Africa's most prestigious horse racing and lifestyle event, the Hollywoodbets Durban July, will reach a global audience for the first time this year, as HBA Media takes on international distribution of the 2026 renewal.

First run in 1897, the feature race has become a fixture of the South African sporting and social calendar, drawing crowds each year on the first Saturday of July.

The 2026 edition, staged under the theme "Country Allure," is supported by a competitive undercard of 11 races, including the Grade 1 Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes.

Marking his inaugural presenting appearance at the Hollywoodbets Durban July, Nick Luck brings his unrivalled experience to the coverage, offering international audiences a familiar and authoritative voice for this landmark occasion.

HBA Media has secured coverage across numerous territories with FOX Sports set to broadcast the Hollywoodbets Durban July in the United States for the first time. In Europe, Viaplay will extend coverage across Scandinavia and the Netherlands, while WeDo Sports and WeDo Asia broaden the event’s reach further still across Europe and Asia.

The South African addition marks a welcome expansion of HBA Media's media right portfolio, which already spans premium racing from the UK, USA, Australia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France and Hong Kong.

Dean Sawarjith, Chief Operating Officer of Race Coast, said: "The Hollywoodbets Durban July is one of South Africa's most iconic sporting events, and we're delighted to share it with a wider global audience. This partnership with HBA Media is an important step in showcasing the quality of South African racing on the world stage."
