BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL TROPHY TO RECEIVE TRULY GLOBAL EXPOSURE

23 global broadcasters to showcase Kingdom’s showpiece horserace in more than 100 countries

Wednesday, 13th November 2024 - The US$1m Bahrain International Trophy on Friday (15th November) has once again attracted some of the biggest names in sports broadcasting, including the likes of Fox Sports in the US and ESPN / Star+ in South America and Caribbean.

 

A total of 23 broadcasters have so far committed to showcasing the $1m race – one of the showpiece races in the region.

 

Twelve horses are set to go to post with six countries represented, headed by four-time Group 1 winner, Nation’s Pride, and last year’s winner Spirit Dancer, co-owned by Sir Alex Ferguson. The race is due off at 7.35pm local time (4.35pm GMT). 

 

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) and HBA Media (HBA), two of the world’s leading horseracing media rights companies, working with the Bahrain Turf Club, are distributing the TV coverage.

 

Some of the world’s leading sports broadcasters are taking live coverage include Fox Sports in the US and ESPN / Star+ in Latin America and Caribbean. For the first time, live coverage will be shown in Japan via digital platform Netkeiba, which engages 17m monthly users, and in Canada via leading sports network, SportsNet.

 

  • North and South America, plus the Caribbean: Fox Sports, Fanduel (US); SportsNet, HPI (Canada) ESPN / Star+ (50 countries in Latin America, Caribbean); SportsMax (Caribbean).
  • Europe: Equidia (France); Polsat (Poland); Racing TV, Sky Sports Racing (UK, Republic of Ireland); Setanta (14 countries in Balkans and Eurasia); SilkNet (Georgia); Virgin (Republic of Ireland); Wedo (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
  • Asia and Australasia:  Sony Pictures Network* (7 countries in Indian subcontinent); Transvision (Indonesia); Netkeiba, Green Channel* (Japan), Sky Racing* (Australia)
  • Middle East and Africa: Bahrain TV, Dubai Racing Channel (17 countries in MENA); Saudi Sports Channels* (Saudia Arabia); 4Racing (16 countries in Africa)
