19th February 2020 – With the much-anticipated Saudi Cup approaching - Saturday, 29th February at King Abdulaziz Racetrack in Riyadh - HBA Media today revealed the bespoke title sequence and graphics created by the award-winning director, Daryl Goodrich.

Sports film director , Daryl Goodrich , is widely recognised as one of the most influential people in securing the 2012 Olympic games for London, combined with enviable connections and a client-list from all sporting sectors including F1, the English Premier League, rugby, boxing, tennis and horseracing. Charged with creating a powerful title sequence for the live outside-broadcast of the world’s richest race, the 30-second cinematic film starts in a swirling windstorm from which racehorses emerge and canter across a Riyadh city skyline.

The textural feel of a sand and wind forms a transitional theme across all the Saudi Cup on-screen moving graphics, which are complemented by bespoke stings designed to maintain the cinematic look and feel; as well as maintaining consistent connection with the opening title animation.

Static graphics to illustrate race information, runners and riders has embraced the palate (green and off-white) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s national flag.

Goodrich has also created an additional set of title sequence and graphics for the weekly 30-minute horseracing magazine show, broadcast on Saudi TV. Launched earlier this year, the show is proving to be the perfect platform for building regional awareness to the exciting Saudi Cup.

Henry Birtles, CEO of HBA Media, said:

“Daryl’s track record speaks volumes. His originality, flair and knowledge of horseracing has been successfully encapsulated in the stylistic, moviemaking title sequences created for the prestigious Saudi Cup and support programming.”

Daryl Goodrich, Sports Film Director, said:

“To have the opportunity to design and produce an opening sequence for such an amazing event, was a pleasure and a privilege. The horses are majestic and the location inspiring - hopefully the designs do justice to the racing.”

Last year, HBA Media was appointed The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia’s dedicated broadcast and distribution partner.

The appointment also includes overseeing and working with global production companies responsible for programming surrounding the prestigious Saudi Cup itself, as well as the creation of a high-level year-round support content.
