Sunday, 10th December marks the final premier race day within the 2023 calendar - The Longines Hong Kong International Races - at Sha Tin Racecourse, which has benefitted from increased international exposure courtesy of HBA Media (HBA).
HBA and the Hong Kong Jockey Club entered into a three-year agreement earlier this year to incorporate its principal fixtures into HBA’s well-established portfolio of international horse racing media rights.
Competitors from 12 different countries will be battling it out across the card, culminating in four elite Group 1 races which have a record US$15.1 million on offer. The truly global nature of the contest has been underlined by its media rights distribution. FOX Sports will showcase the races live in the US for the first time, with a further 10 major sports networks broadcasting the Group 1 racing to ensure reach across every continent.
Frank Sale, Managing Director of HBA Media, said: “We are delighted to be working alongside the Hong Kong Jockey Club to attain widespread global distribution for this most prestigious of events. The Longines Hong Kong International Races are the concluding fixture in our Crown Jewels Racing portfolio and a superb way for our broadcasters to end a busy season of elite international racing.
“2023 has been a rewarding period for us and we look forward to working with our clients to take the global distribution of the sport further in 2024.”
