LONDON (October 30th, 2015) – The 2015 Emirates Melbourne Cup will be televised live on Eurosport in over 70 countries on their European and Asian networks, and by international broadcasters throughout the Middle East, India and Australia.

Each year on the first Tuesday in November, some of the world’s greatest gallopers battle it out for a stake of the $6.2 million prize money in 'the race that stops a nation'.™ The Emirates Melbourne Cup is widely considered to be the best staying handicap in the world, offering the richest prize money in Australian sport and a 18ct solid gold Hardy Brothers trophy valued at $175,500.

Victoria Racing Club have teamed up with Henry Birtles Associates (HBA), a leader in media rights for horse racing, to distribute this truly spectacular event.

For the first time, The Emirates Melbourne Cup will be brought to a global audience through a dedicated 1 hour international show produced by Channel 7 in conjunction with HBA, specifically for the global network community.

“HBA has pioneered the one hour show format to open racing up to a wider TV audience and make it more internationally accessible. In partnership with the VRC we will be bringing this iconic Australian sporting event to television screens across the globe.” said HBA’s Managing Director Henry Birtles.
