Thursday, 2nd June - This Saturday’s Cazoo Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse – an official part of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations – has attracted global attention with more than 50 broadcasters committed to showing coverage of the raceday.

Set to be run for £1.604m following two supplementary entries, the Cazoo Derby is Britain's richest and most prestigious race that every jockey, trainer and owner wants to win – and no matter where you are in the world, it should be available on a TV platform near you.

The Jockey Club, which owns and operates Epsom Downs Racecourse, Racecourse Media Group, and HBA Media have together secured a wide range of broadcasters for the Cazoo Derby Festival (Friday to Saturday), including 32 showing live coverage, 15 on-site news and lifestyle broadcasters, plus various news agencies.

The US audience will be particularly well catered for with Good Morning America (ABC network) and NBC News broadcasting live from Epsom, while Jess Stafford will be hosting live action from the course for America’s prominent racing channel, TVG. In addition, Fox Sports, the leading sports network in the US, will be showing a live one-hour programme around the Cazoo Derby itself.

European news channels live at Epsom include ARD (Germany), Polsat (Poland), France Télévisions, BFMTV (France), SRF (Switzerland) and SIC (Portugal), while ITN, Sky News, BBC Breakfast and ITV’s Lorraine will also be on-site for the UK audience.

CNN International will be including coverage in their news and World Sport output, available to over 370 million households, while news agencies Reuters, SNTV, PA and AFP will be distributing coverage around the globe. Trans World Sport, the popular long-running sports magazine show, is also featuring the Cazoo Derby for its upcoming programme.

Cazoo Derby day has attracted several first-time takers, who will be transmitting live racing coverage. These include Eclat (14 countries in South-East Asia), NENT (Scandinavia), Wedo.tv (Germany, Switzerland and Austria), Polsat (Poland) and Charlton (Israel). Other first-timers include Sony Pictures Network and Wasutv will dedicate a special one-hour show to the race in India and China respectively.

Audiences in UK and Ireland (ITV, Virgin Media, Racing TV), Africa (SuperSport, Racing 240), Japan (Green Channel, NHK), Hong Kong (HKJC, Cable TV, TVB, Now TV), Australasia (Sky Racing, Trackside), Latin American, Caribbean (ESPN / Star +, SportsMax) and MENA (Dubai Racing Channel) will also be well served with live coverage.

Phil White, The Jockey Club’s London Regional Director , said: “We look forward to welcoming television viewers around the world to Epsom Downs for the Cazoo Derby this weekend. They will not only be witnessing racing’s most spectacular carnival, but can also join the Platinum Jubilee celebrations as we celebrate the historic reign of Her Majesty The Queen. I have no doubt that our extensive worldwide audience are in for a treat and will enjoy one of the great sporting and social occasions of recent times.”
