BREEDERS’ CUP

Every sport has a definitive year-ending event to crown its champions. In Thoroughbred racing, the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is the culmination of the horse racing season worldwide and the Breeders’ Cup Classic is the defining race of the international horse racing season.

This two-day, 14-race, multi-million extravaganza attracts the best horses, trainers and owners from across the globe. The Breeders' Cup Classic is often the deciding factor for the American ‘Horse of the Year’.

Every year, the road to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships starts months before with a series of qualifying races that are known as the Breeders‘ Cup Challenge Series. The series has expanded over the years and it has consistently given fans a preview of some of the runners who will vie for Breeders’ Cup glory.

The two-day Championships starts with Future Stars Friday, where the sport’s prodigies compete in five Juvenile (two-year-old) races.

The non-stop action continues on Saturday where the Breeders’ Cup Raceday crowns nine World Champions across different surfaces and divisions, including the season-defining $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) run on dirt over a mile-and-a-quarter

With 14 races across two days, annually we see legends born, history made and fortunes won. It's not just a raceday, it's an experience that's a breed apart.
